Along the 36 miles of this byway, sagebrush turns to a mix of Joshua, pinon, juniper and white fir trees, and you may even catch a glimpse of an ancient bristle-cone pine, the oldest living tree on planet. And Mt. Charleston's high elevation keeps it cool even in summer.
